The Inner Light

the bright light

dances in my orbit

like the frisky moon

like the bride of spirit

warming my heart

in the depth of winter

i devour

the spring of life

with gusto

unlocking the kernel of desire

as the earth moves

i enrich my soul

in your presence as two hearts meet

melting into oneness

i feed the flame

in the nick of time

i gather the minute fragments

of hope in absolute silence

wrestling with complex emotions

now the little bird sings

of the inner light

of reason and endless desire

turning my life around

as the bright new dawn beckons

in the stirring winds of change
