under the

fragrant moon

you sit

like a soul deprived

like a jewel in the rock of times

nursing the fragile hope

of survival in the

moving thread of light

you witness

the world as it is

bathing in the light

of the moment 

you think of the pain

and pleasure of living

under

the antipodean sun

as fortune weaves its magic

at the crack of dawn
